How do i get reimbursed?
Courtesy Billing Services. As out-of-network providers, I have incorporated two simplified and unique portals to save you time and energy. SimplePractice conveniently allows you to complete and update general paperwork and add payment processing information. Reimbursify will enable you to check your out-of-network benefits, submit reimbursement claims, receive status updates on your claims, and provide service support. I will provide you with a superbill to submit for reimbursement from your insurance carrier. You can quickly and easily submit reimbursement claims to your insurance carrier directly from my website. The Reimbursify link is provided below. Nearly all clients who file for reimbursement are reimbursed at 60-100% of fees.
how do i complete the required paperwork?
Complete your paperwork and set-up autopay on Simple Practice (REQUIRED). You’ll receive an email from Simple Practice with a link to complete the paperwork (which must be completed before the first appointment). The email's subject will be “Client Portal”.
What questions should I ask my insurance company?
Does my plan include out-of-network benefits for mental health care? Specifically for outpatient psychotherapy?
Do I have a deductible for out-of-network mental health services? If so, what is the remaining amount I will need to pay before my health plan starts reimbursing me for fees that I pay out-of-pocket?
What is the maximum amount my plan will reimburse for mental health service code 90837 with a psychotherapist, or what is the maximum allowed amount for mental health service code 90837 with a psychotherapist, and what percentage of the maximum allowed amount will my plan pay? (This percentage of the maximum allowed amount is the amount you would receive as reimbursement). Depending on your coverage with your insurance company, you may receive your reimbursement by ACH deposit or check. This usually takes between 2-4 weeks. Out-of-network services mean increased privacy and confidentiality. Unlike in-network providers, we aren’t required to share certain information with your insurance company. You can also register with Reimbursify to review your out-of-network benefits.
How do I Create an Account with Reimbursify?
Register at www.reimbursify.com to have your claims submitted and receive reimbursement from your insurance company.
Therapy is an important step towards your health and well-being
Therapy is a short-term investment in your health and well-being that can benefit you for the rest of your life. I take your mental health and wellness seriously. I am committed to making therapy accessible and offer limited sliding-scale pro bono services to clients in need. Your well-being is important to me. If my rate is not within your budget and you do not qualify for pro bono services, I will try to help you find services that meet your needs.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider; however, I can provide you with an invoice, also known as a “Superbill,” of services rendered that you can submit to your health insurance company for reimbursement. You will need to register and create an account with Reimbursify. I will provide you with the Superbill, which you can submit through the link on our website. I encourage you to contact your insurance company and ask for details regarding behavioral health reimbursement before your first session.
If you have any concerns about billing or charges to your credit card, please speak with me before disputing the charge. If you choose to dispute a charge, you may compromise the privacy and confidentiality of your Protected Health Information. I can easily reimburse any incorrect credit card charge, so please consider this option first.
What are the Benefits of Paying Out-of-Pocket?
Insurance companies mandate a diagnosis, oversee your health records, and may seek access to your information while in therapy. They also may limit your coverage to a set number of therapy sessions per year, regardless of what you’re going through. When considering the implications of using insurance, paying out-of-pocket is a better fit for some.
What Forms of Payment do you accept?
I accept payment via debit or credit card, as well as HSA and FSA cards. Before your first therapy session, you will be directed to set up a card on file for automatic payment arrangement on a secure, encrypted platform. Your card will automatically be charged at the end of each session.
what is your Cancellation Policy?
I require a 24-hour notice of cancellation to avoid a full payment fee for a missed session. If this is concerning due to your circumstances, please discuss it before entering treatment.
Do you offer a Complimentary Consultation?
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to help us determine if I am the right therapist for you. During our consultation, I will ask a few questions to understand what brings you to therapy, what you are looking for in a therapist, and your specific treatment needs. It’s vital that you feel comfortable with me as your therapist. If I’m not the right therapist, I will do my best to accommodate you.
What is the Good Faith Estimate Notice?
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers must provide patients without insurance with an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total anticipated cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, or any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
